BULACAN, Philippines — F&A Hub CEO Archie Patdu shared his vision of a booming future to the graduating students of Bulacan State University – Bustos Campus, College of Business Administration.

With the theme “Enhancing Students Career for Professional Advancement”, BulSU – Bustos hosted its 4th Internship Induction Ceremony and Pre-Employment Seminar for their Financial Management and Marketing students on May 8, 2019. Archie was invited as one of their key speakers.

“This was the year our economy was at its lowest at 7.32%”,  Archie opened his speech with a personal story of struggle as a fresh graduate back in 1984. “Weekly, I must prepare an application letter, send it via snail mail, and wait for an invitation through telegram.” Archie asked rhetorically, “Do you know that it took me ten months after graduation to land my first employment?”

The accounting outsourcing CEO contrasted his story with how much the process improved since. “Job opportunities are at your disposal.” Archie added, “You can choose the kind of work that you think is aligned with your own personal ambition.”

Besides technology, Archie attributed this development to the thriving Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) industry. “These opportunities are for you — people who had gained soft skills from school and are now willing to be part of the bandwagon”, Archie said.

Archie ended his speech with an inspiring quote from John Maxwell, a best-selling author on leadership: “Successful and unsuccessful people do not vary greatly in their abilities. They vary in their desires to reach their potential.”

As part of his speech, Archie discussed the Philippine IT-BPM Roadmap 2022. He notes that “The Sunshine Industry of the Philippines” is expected to reach $40 billion USD — at par with the annual remittances of Filipino OFWs.
